In This Very Room: The Light of Christ Dispels Darkness

Early this morning, in the middle of the night, actually, I was lying in bed thinking about the eternal principle of light dispelling darkness:

Doctrine and Covenants 50:24-25

That which is of God is light; and he that receiveth light, and continueth in God, receiveth more light; and that light groweth brighter and brighter until the perfect day.

And again, verily I say unto you, and I say it that you may know the truth, that you may chase darkness from among you;

I vaguely remembered a song that said something about light chasing away darkness. I had to get up and search. I could remember part of the tune, but no specific lyrics. After many wrong turns and dead ends, I finally found it!

In This Very Room,” by Ron and Carol Harris, is a beautiful hymn that testifies how Jesus provides quite enough love,  joy, hope and power to chase away any gloom.

Here is a beautiful, old-school rendition by the Lennon Sisters:

New blog: My Path of Discipleship

Christ01 250I am a disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ. I know he lives.  He is my personal Savior and Savior of the entire world.  I am trying to emulate his life and become like him.  In my little way, I try to join him in His great work to bring to pass the eternal life of all humankind. I fall short in so many ways, but know that through His grace, offered freely because of his infinite and eternal atonement, I can progress, step by little step, to become perfect in Him. This new blog is devoted to sharing my feelings about Christ and his great work.

As I grow in understanding of Him, I hope that you, too, will share my profound gratitude for the Savior, and join my quest to know and become like Him. I am inspired by the scriptural verse in Psalms 4:26  “Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.” May our feet always be on the path that leads to Him.
